Ippodo's Mugicha (Barley Tea) is made by slowly roasting premium barley. It boasts a fine aroma, refreshes as it glides down the throat, and has a pleasant aftertaste of refined sweetness. And, because it's a non-caffeine tea, you can drink it at any time of day.

Large pack containing 1 kg of Mugicha

Convenient for mealtimes or as a tea for everyday rehydration. The barley grains are loose, so it is easy to adjust amounts. Make your Mugicha exactly as you would like it.

Look out for the dog carrying a kettle on its back.

Bring about 500 ml (17 oz) of water to the boil in a small kettle or saucepan, then add 15 g (0.5 oz) of barley.

Bring back to the boil, then turn off the heat.

Leave to brew for 30 minutes.
Remove the barley when the tea reaches the desired strength.

Bring the water to a boil, then add about 50 g (1.7 oz) of barley to the kettle for each 2 liters (2 qt) of water. Turn off the heat and leave to brew for 30 minutes. That's all.

Mugicha is suitable for drinking either hot or iced.
And when the tea has cooled down, you can always reheat it in a microwave.
