JAS-certified organic green tea
Sencha with a robust natural bitterness
Note: Due to limited supply, purchases are limited to no more than two packages per customer.
Following the success of this approach in 2011, Ippodo has again prepared two different types of Organic Sencha for 2012.
This year both types of Organic Sencha have a distinctive bitterness, but this one brings out the bitter flavor, producing a "wild" characteristic. A robust, unrefined aroma combines with this bitterness to assert the tea's natural, organic character.
The brisk flavor makes this an ideal tea to accompany a meal, Chilled with ice, it's also good for quenching a thirst.
What is Organic Sencha?
Ippodo's Organic Sencha is a sencha tea cultivated and processed under conditions that comply with the requirements for JAS organic certification. We only pick leaves that can provide green tea's natural mellow aroma and flavor, while still fitting in with Ippodo's characteristic range of tastes. We market two different types of organic green tea. Both are sencha, but they each have their own distinctive flavor.
